An Estacada resident most of her life, Becky Arnold died at her home with her family by her side on Thursday, December 17, 2020. She was 65. Becky JoAnne Staigle was born May 22, 1955 in Portland, Oregon to Leonard and Jeanne (Baker) Staigle. She moved to Estacada when she was 11 years old, where she began to plant roots in a town she would later return to. An avid gardener and loyal mother, wife, and grandma, Becky could often be seen in her garden, or, when her kids were school-aged, cheering them on loudly—something her kids wouldn’t learn to appreciate until many years later. After meeting her second husband, Timothy Arnold, while working at Precision Cast Parts, she returned to Estacada, serving as a city councilor from 2004 – 2009. She then became mayor from 2009 – 2011. She was a loved Estacada citizen known for her dedication to bettering the community and everyone around her. She encouraged growth in her small town, working tirelessly to provide safe spaces for Estacada’s youth and spearheading projects such as the Estacada Skatepark and Wade Creek Park. She was known for her generous heart and friendly smile, especially while working at Dean Holden Enterprises and later when she owned and operated Estacada Music store with her husband. Becky retired in 2014, filling her days with gardening, watching her grandchildren and fishing with her husband. Becky is survived by her husband Tim; children, Jeff Christie, Chris Arnold, Amanda Arnold, Shawn Drinkwater, Jeremy Drinkwater, Sydney Burrell and Ali Kolias-Olmstead; mother, Jeanne Holden and stepfather, Dean Holden; sisters, Charlee Furrow, Katrina Staigle; brother, Dave Staigle and 18 grandchildren. Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to local charities that will help the community she dedicated much of her life to serving.
