Bonnie Kiggins, 82, a Longtime Estacada resident, died on Thursday, September 12, 2024, after a long battle with cancer.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 20, 2024, at Clackamas Valley Baptist Church, followed by a committal service at Springwater Cemetery.
Bonnie Lee Howell was born June 28, 1942 in Silverton, Oregon to Wilbur and Luana (Guaroutte) Howell. She lived in Springwater on Wallens Road, where she helped with the family farm until she graduated from Estacada High School in 1960. She married Ronald Kiggins in 1964 in Estacada, and for almost 30 years, Bonnie and Ron together owned and operated Estacada Drug.
Bonnie was an active and beloved member of the Estacada community, serving as an elder in the Springwater Presbyterian Church and a volunteer at Willamette Falls Hospital. After retirement, the couple moved to Sellwood and began spending their winters in Kauai. Their final move was to Mesquite, Nevada, where Bonnie once again became involved in the community.
An avid musician, Bonnie began playing the piano at age 3. Her lifelong devotion to music led her to serve as piano accompanist for choir and musical productions at Estacada School District, Jackson Middle School, and Mesquite School District, as well as for local church services, weddings, and funerals.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Ronald Kiggins; daughter Kristie Kiggins; son JD (Holly) Kiggins; brother Wiley Howell; and grandchildren Kapua Robinson, Roan, and Theo Kiggins.
