Lifetime Estacada resident, Brenda Collins, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Saturday, November 25, 2023 after battling cancer for two years. Brenda was a beloved grandmother, mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend during her 65 years of life.
Brenda Carol Day was born December 30, 1957 in Oregon City, Oregon to Duane and Carolyn “June” (Harbert) Day. She was raised in Estacada and graduated from Estacada High School in 1976. After attending some college Brenda started working for Cascade Utilities, now Reliance Connects, in 1978. That same year Brenda met Steve Crosby and they later married on August 18, 1979. Brenda and Steve had two children, Brooke Crosby (now Brooke Wheeler) and Scott Crosby. Tragically, Steve died on March 26, 2011. Brenda was blessed to meet another wonderful partner, Steve Collins and they were married on June 11, 2022.
During her life, Brenda enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends and family and attending as many youth sporting events of her grandsons as possible. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, loving wife, cherished friend, and fearless leader.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Steve Collins; daughter, Brooke Wheeler and her husband Ben; son, Scott Crosby and his wife Erin; parents, Duane and June Day; brother, Gordon Day; grandchildren, Hank Wheeler, Otis Wheeler, Calvin Wheeler, Steven Crosby and Maxwell Crosby; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Brenda’s life will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Estacada Junior High Auditorium. Private inurnment will be at the Springwater Cemetery Columbarium.
Donations may be made to the Estacada Community Foundation in Brenda's name.
