A graveside service with military honors will be held 3pm, Friday, August 17, 2018, at Willamette National Cemetery followed by a gathering of friends and family at the Estacada Community Center.
Charlie Everett Phillips was born December 6, 1939, in Coquille, Oregon to Charlie and Silva (Blaylock) Phillips. He was raised in Sweet Home, Oregon where he graduated from high school. After high school, he entered into the US Army and retired in 1980. He then had various jobs including working with his father at Phillips and Son Electrical Repair.
Charlie enjoyed fishing, hunting, video poker, and anything to do with the outdoors.
Survivors include his companion, Judy Walker; sons, Charlie E. Phillips SFC (RET), Jon K. Phillips 1SG (RET), Craig E. Phillips E4 (RET); daughter, Cynthia E. Witcraft; brothers, Virgil Phillips E4 (RET); Lynn Phillips; sisters, LuAnn Devine, Judy Prinsehouse.
He has 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents and a sister Roberta AKA Sue Shaver.
In 1987, he graduated with honors from Clackamas Community College. He received an Associate degree which included a certificate as a certified welder.
