Denise C. Georgioff – Obituary Longtime Portland resident, Denise Georgioff died peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 17, 2019. She was 64. A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 28, 2019, at GRESHAM FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH. Please call Mark at 503.869.7884 for further information. Denise Carol Georgioff was born October 4, 1954, in Portland, Oregon, to George and Alice (Brinks) Georgioff. She was raised in Portland and graduated from Grant High School in 1972. After high school she graduated from George Fox College with a bachelor degree in Sociology. Subsequently, she did juvenile social work for many years, impacting many lives. In her early 30’s, she then pursued a Masters degree at Oregon State University and achieved a masters degree in Education. Following this, she worked various college administration positions in Sitka Alaska, Spokane Washington, Austin Texas, before returning to Portland in 1997. Here she worked many fulfilling years in the private sector and then Mt. Hood Community College, retiring due to health reasons in 2017. Denise enjoyed the outdoors, swing dancing, giving gifts, and being with her friends. Survivors include her sisters, Diane (Mark) Trotter, Karen (Charlie) Rice; brothers, Jim (Liz) Georgioff, Paul Georgioff, Mark (Robin) Georgioff, 13 nieces and nephews and many dear lifelong friends.
