Gary James Davis – Obituary

Longtime Molalla resident, Gary Davis, died in Molalla on Monday, July 8, 2024 after a long illness. He was 76 years old.

A graveside service with military honors will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Adams Cemetery in Molalla. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Gary James Davis was born June 8, 1948 in Portland, Oregon to James and Aileen (Ellis) Davis. He was raised in Portland where he graduated from Grant High School in 1966. Gary joined the US National Guard (Air Force) for one year then in 1967, he was in the US Army reserves at Ft. Vancouver during the Vietnam era for 6 years and was honorably discharged as Staff Sergeant in 1974. Gary was a member of the Marksmanship unit and was on the shooting team. He worked for Pacific Northwest Bell as directory assistance to the installer and worked as a repair technician until 1988. He moved to Molalla from Portland in 1996.

Gary enjoyed reading, music, and spending time with his cat “Mew.”

He is survived by his brothers, Brian Davis of Portland, Craig (Terrie) Davis of Mulino; nephews, James (Rikki) Davis of Lincoln, MT, Julian Davis of Portland, Steven Davis of Molalla and 9 great nieces and nephews, Julian, Sayer, Miyah, Maddi, Wyatt, Peyten, Stella, Sawyer and Kash.
