James Donald Christner peacefully passed away at his home on April 2, 2025, at the age of 67.
Born on September 9, 1957, in Portland, Oregon, James was the son of Ruby and Donald Christner. He spent his formative years in Portland and Clackamas. After high school, he began his career as an Ironworker with Canron Western before transitioning to truck driving in the asphalt industry with L&K Trucking, where he remained until his retirement due to illness.
On November 2, 2021, James married Julie Ems, after sharing 22 years together as partners.
James was a man of varied interests. In his younger years, he had a passion for Harley Davidsons, but as he matured, his love turned towards horses and the excitement of rodeos.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Julie Christner; his daughters, Brandy Christner and Mollie Gower; and a cherished family of five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. James was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Billie Jo Hooten, who passed away in 2022.
A GoFundMe has been created to help with funeral expenses and whatever else arises that Julie may need help with.
