Linda L. Ellis

April 12, 1939 — January 15, 2019

Our beloved Linda died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, January 15th at Legacy Mt. Hood Hospital after a lengthy battle with cardiopulmonary disease. She was 79. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, January 26th, 2019, 2pm at Estacada Funeral Chapel. Linda Lee Niesen was born in Portland on April 12, 1939 to Lorenz Niesen and Margaret (Hamilton) Niesen. Following her parents divorce when she was 8 years old, she moved to her aunt and uncle's farm above Estacada, spending time with her mother on weekends and holidays. She graduated from Estacada High School in 1957. Two weeks after graduation, she married Jerry Ellis and they soon moved to Three Lynx where Jerry got a job with PGE working on the Oak Grove Hydroelectric Project. Jerry and Linda's first daughter, Sandra Lee, came along in 1958, followed by Lonnie Ray in 1965 and Teri Louise in 1967. In 1968, Jerry started work at the River Mill PGE plant and moved the family downriver to Estacada in 1971. Linda enjoyed toll painting, playing video and card games, doing yard work in the sunshine and spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret in 1990; step-dad, Michael Mosko in 2000 and her husband Jerry in 2008. Survivors include her son, Lonnie Ellis of Estacada; daughters, Sandra Ellis and Teri Ellis of Estacada; granddaughter, Ronnie Ellis of Gresham and grandson, Michael Ellis of Estacada. Family asks that in lieu of sending flowers, a contribution may be made in her honor to a charity of your choice.
