Louise Ring was born in Corvallis, Oregon on August 6, 1951. She died in a tragic car accident on October 16, 2021. Growing up in Tacoma, Washington, Louise treasured her animals and the vacant lot where she spent hours checking out nature. At Aquinas Academy for Girls, she was much loved and had the best voice in the choir. After a year a WSU, she moved to Portland where she worked for the city’s Park’s department. She then became a practicing Buddhist, married Don Spears and had four children. Following her divorce, Louise started a childcare business where she was Grandma “Weez” to many. Louise was a friend to trees, animals and her extended family. Her powerful spirit will be so missed by her children; Ed, Joe, Tom, Kate and stepdaughter Annie. She also leaves behind twelve grandchildren, three brothers (Steve, Bruce and Tom) and the many people who loved her. Her parents, Marvin and Elizabeth Ring predeceased her. It is suggested that any remembrances be sent to an animal rescue/shelter of your choice in her name.
