Michael Richard Holmes

Michael Richard Holmes, age 56, passed on March 8, 2025. He was born on May 3, 1968, to Carol and Richard Holmes in Susanville, California. Michael spent his early years there before his family relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado.

After completing high school, Michael honorably served in the U.S. Air Force in 1986-1990, demonstrating his commitment to his country. He then pursued higher education and earned his bachelor's degree from Humboldt University in California.

In 1996, Michael met Nancy Woodruff, and they were united in marriage at Estacada Christian Church on August 7, 1999. Together, they had three wonderful daughters, whom they cherished dearly. The family initially lived in Gresham before finding their home in Estacada and settling down.

Michael had a fulfilling career as a compliance analyst, first serving Clackamas County and then completing the last seven years of his professional journey with the State of Oregon. He brought dedication and care to his work, leaving a positive impact on those he served.

In his free time, Michael enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including bike riding, playing guitar, reading, and writing, which brought him great joy and fulfillment.

Michael is survived by his loving daughters, Megan, Grace, and Emily Holmes; his mother, Carol Ralston; his sisters, Julie Scoggins, and Kim Cross; his brother-in-laws, Will Scoggins and Bob Cross; his stepbrother, Tim Ralston; his sister-in-law, Ryan Ralston; his uncle, Steve Howell; his aunt, Chris Soltisiak; and his former wife, Nancy Holmes. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Holmes; his step-father, Stan Ralston; and his uncles, Brad and Cavin Howell.

The celebration of life for Michael will be held at Estacada Funeral Chapel at 1:00pm on April 11th.
