Norene Larson Rimberg, died peacefully in her home, surrounded by family on Monday, April 29, 2024 at the age of 97.
Norene was born in Seattle Washington on February 8, 1927, to James and Gladys (Culp) Gurley. She was raised with three sisters, Lolly, Marlee and Shirley and one brother Clifford, of which all procede her in death.
She married Edward Larson, with whom she settled in Estacada and built a lasting home on the adjacent property where Ed had grown up. Their union brought forth 8 children, and they remained devoted until his passing in1990. Subsequently, Norene found happiness again with Felix Rimberg, whom she cherished until his passing in 2017.
Being raised during the great depression, made her a strong, humble, frugal and a very hard working person. She worked in the neighbors berry fields to earn extra money and canned everything she grew, always managing to provide for us. We never went without and she passed those traits to all of us. She also worked at the Red Fox Motel as an assisted manager and volunteered at the Estacada Book Nook. She was always busy, had a wonderful quick sense of humor, was kind and caring and her door was always open to all. She helped with all of her grandchildren and loved them all so much and they all cherished the time they shared with her.
Throughout her life, Norene found joy in various hobbies such as crocheting and sewing. She reveled in moments spent with family, indulged in bird watching, cultivated gardens with care, and explored new destinations with an adventurous spirit.
She is preceded in death by her son, Michael Joe and two grandsons, Michael Troy Riedel and Keith Edward Parker. She is survived by her children, Delores Conrad, Ed and BJ Larson, Linda and Art Crape, Sue and Vince Olivetti, Christy Larson, Dan Larson, Leann and Leroy Rich; along with 23 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Additionally, she leaves behind over 26 step grandchildren whom she also embraced as her own.
Norene Larson Rimberg's memory will forever be treasured by all who were touched by her love and kindness.
