Phyllis, a longtime Estacada resident, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm, Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Estacada Funeral Chapel with a reception following at the Eagle Creek “Inn” Saloon. Private inurnment will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery Columbarium in Estacada.
Phyllis Jean Glaser was born the 5th of 7 children on March 20, 1938 in Fairburn, South Dakota to Gustave Balzer Glaser and Ella Mae (Parks) Glaser; she was 85 years old. She was a young girl raised in South Dakota until moving to Oregon in the early 1940’s. She married Lyman “Fred” Morse in 1957 and was widowed at the age of 47. Soon after she fell in love with Samuel Garber, who she spent over 25 years with until he passed in 2016. Phyllis enjoyed life to the fullest with joy in her heart and smile, she never let illness keep her down. She was always her happiest surrounded by loved ones, which meant anyone, and anyone who encountered her would tell you she was the brightest part of their day. She was a wiz with crossword puzzles until the day she passed and loved to sing and listen to old country music. She will always be remembered as a strong, joyful, and loving sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend.
Survived by her daughter, Debrah Nakunz; son, Russell Morse; daughter, Sheryl Morse; daughter, Tami Ericksen; daughter, Devlin Wiese.
She was preceded in death by her son Gary Morse.
