Robert Edward Stalcup Jr., A long time Estacada resident, finished his 74-year race Tuesday, May 5, 2020, with family by his side. A celebration of his life will be announced in the future. Robert, known to most as Bob, was born January 23, 1946 in Tillamook, Oregon to Robert Edward Senior and Hazel ( Long ) Stalcup. He graduated Grants Pass High School and attended two different Bible Colleges where he played basketball and enjoyed many other sports and activities. He married Kathryn Ann Hash May 30, 1965. They made residence in several places in Oregon and central California before finally landing in the Estacada area in 1974 where they worked together with Kathryn’s father, Bill Hash, to build a church “THE NEW LIFE CENTER”. Robert served as a youth pastor, associate pastor, and head pastor. He was also involved in various other ministries throughout his life. He always had a passion for people wherever he was whether it be a youth outing, drama production, or heartfelt message, Bob met you where you are and did his best to lead you toward The Kingdom in Christ. His love for a good prank is legendary and he enjoyed it whether someone was pranking him or he was the one dishing it out. He loved God, his wife, 5 children, 14 grandchildren and 29 Great grandchildren in a way few get to experience. The extended family of Christ that he shepherded is expansive and we are bound together by the love of Christ shared by him which is engraved on our hearts and souls. I believe that all who knew him are better for it and his desire would be that we would continue to share and spread the love of Christ to all. Bob: husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. You will be forever be loved and cherished.
