Thelma Winkler was born on February 27, 1938 in Holton, Kansas, to Theron and Mae (Heugel) Rutledge. In 1953, she moved with her family to Sandy Oregon. She graduated from Sandy High School. Thelma worked in the poultry industry for Bridgeman Poultry in the Portland area where she met her husband Gerald Winkler. They were married on February 1, 1963.
In her free time, Thelma enjoyed needle-point cross stitching, raising chickens, the outdoors, and loved spending time fishing.
Survivors include her husband of almost 60 years, Gerald Winkler of Portland; her children William J Winkler of Portland, Ronald G Winkler of Gresham, Donna Jean Guillory of Coos Bay and Gary Wayne Winkler of Portland; her siblings Phillip Rutledge, Louise Von Bergen, Evelyn Campbell, Richard Rutledge, and Doris Curd ; along with 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
