Timothy Matthew Shibahara was born February 27, 1968 in Portland, Oregon to Matthew and Jacquelin (Weygandt) Shibahara. He was raised in Estacada and graduated from Estacada High School in 1986. After high school Tim worked in construction as a framer to help pay his way through college. He attended Oregon State University where he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fisheries. He met his future wife, Rochelle Neal, working as a houseboy in her sorority. They were married on August 24th, 1996 in Boardman, Oregon. Tim was the manager of the Westside Hydro Biological Services team and worked on the Environment Science team at PGE for more than 23 years. He also was known for his commitment to volunteering and giving back to his community and many different organizations (Coaching, Youth Soccer, City Parks & Rec Commission, Best Dam Run, Estacada Summer Celebration, CRBC, APB and more).
Tim loved and was so proud of his 3 children - Tai (19), Trey (15) and Ava (15) - more than anything in this world. He dedicated his life to providing for his family and helping guide them to find their “secret sauce”. Tim spent endless hours with his family, sharing his love for soccer, fishing, music, water sports and so much more. He believed in giving experiences to his children and loved traveling to new places with his family, Arizona and Lake Billy Chinook being 2 of his favorite destinations.
He was his happiest when he was listening to music, hanging with friends and family, building things and helping others. His smile and laugh were infectious and energized even more by the hot summer days! He lived his life with a constant playlist in his head and a passion for life that was contagious.
Tim made an instant connection with everyone he met and made them feel heard and important. This is clearly felt through the outpouring of love and support the family has received since the news of his passing. He has left a huge hole in the hearts of his family, friends, co-workers and community.
Tim is survived by his wife, Rochelle Shibahara; sons, Tai Shibahara, Trey Shibahara; daughter, Ava Shibahara; parents, Matt & Jackie Shibahara; siblings, Tamiko Shibahara, Mark Shibahara, Angie White, Bobby Shibahara, Rachel LaMedica, Suzie Shibahara.
