A celebration of his life will be held at 10am on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at Estacada Community Fellowship.
William Herman Huxley III was born June 7, 1953, in Pasadena, California to William Huxley II and Joyce (Freymann) Huxley. He was raised in Indio, California. In 1982, he moved to the Portland area where he met Dorothy "Dolly" Carron. They married in 1988 and in 1990, their son, Dalton was born. Seven weeks later, Dorothy passed away. Bill continued to raise Dalton while continuing to be a father figure in the life of his step-daughter, Amanda, who he regarded as one of his own children. He remarried in 1998. Shortly after, his daughter Carley was born. Bill devoted his life to his children and worked hard to provide the best life he could for them. For most of Bill’s working career, he owned and operated William H. Huxley & Son Landscaping. After he retired, he went into business with his son and they started Bear Creek Rustics in Estacada. Bill was a great asset to Estacada with his passion for log furniture and great personality.
Bill enjoyed woodworking and spent most of his younger years as a hunter and later years as a fisherman. He loved the outdoors and loved music and often shared both with his children. His philosophy was to always try to be a better person then the person he was the day before.
He is survived by his son, Dalton Huxley; his daughter-in-law, Kendell Huxley; his daughter, Carley Huxley; his step-daughter, Amanda Osbourne; his siblings, Clinton Huxley, Fonda Huxley-Keiper, Dennis Huxley, Richard Huxley and his beloved dog, Wyatt who has found a home with Dalton & Kendell
